Teaching is one of those professions that never gets old, and what I mean by that is, the fundamentals never change. The personnel may change, curricula might change but the essence of teaching has been the same for eons..and that is..we are apart of something that is meant to bring a child to a place in their lives where they can realize their potential…if we inspire a generation of kids to be good citizens, with good lessons and work habits that we have done our job, so we will be getting into a lot of these things, as the mission z podcast evolves so we look forward to bringing you into the mix, as we get started here.
I am also the founder and CEO of Long Island Prevention and Resilience Enrichment Program (Long Island PREP for short). Long Island PREP is a substance abuse prevention and mental health awareness company. We work directly with schools and provide a wide array of prevention and mental health awareness services… , K-12 prevention education, professional development and community awareness to communities and a new, assistive technology platform for intervention and social emotional staff in schools. So when a child in crisis is identified, we have the system in place to comprehensively address the issue…we partner schools and parents with the idea of that the most important people in the lives a child, work together to create a plan, and intervene so the child can be set on the right track before destructive behaviors occur, and our services span across the substance abuse and mental health ecosystems….
Long Island PREP was founded in 2017 and we are working hard to bring these desperately needed services to school districts and communities across Long Island and beyond.
So, a bit of background about me and what I am doing in this region of the country to make the world a better place…
