LICADD’s Executive Director, On A Mission
Season 1 Episode 12
When it comes to substance abuse and addiction, Steve Chassman has seen it all. From coming up in the early years of his clinical social work through AIDS-ravaged New York City, all the way as Executive Director of the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (LICADD), a 67-year-old agency rooted in the belief that substance use disorder is a medical disease that effects not only the person struggling, but their entire family and community. Steve is embedded deep on the front lines of the substance abuse and mental health crises ravaging our Long Island communities and joins the MissionZ podcast to discuss all of what he and LICADD are doing to combat them.
